My CPD
The CPD tracker can help make it easier to keep track of your points and your activities.
It can also help you:
- Work out how many CPD points you need to get each year
- Learn which types of activities accrue CPD points
- Calculate how many CPD points you can get for each activity
- Get your CPD compliance in order.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development.
It's additional learning or activities taken to expand your knowledge, maintain up-to-date skills and progress in a professional context.
In some states, occupational licence holders are required to complete CPD to retain their registration.
CPD is currently required in New South Wales and Tasmania to retain your Builder’s Registration Licence.
This means as part of the licence renewal process, you need to meet your CPD requirements. You must complete the required CPD learning or activities relevant to your licence category to renew your licence.
New South Wales
In NSW, licenced builders and pool builders are required to earn 12 CPD points a year.

Tasmania
In Tasmania, if you're renewing Building Services Provider Licence you need to have earned 36 CPD points over three years, an average of 12 points per year.

When completing CPD it is important to keep a record or log of the activities completed each year. My CPD tracker makes this part easy for you.
HIA CPD point activities can include:
- Training short courses and workshops
- Events and trade nights
- Virtual events and webinars.
You can see current activities on offer from HIA. Click on the 'Earn CPD' tab in the 'My CPD' section on the dashboard.
You can earn either one or two points per hour for each CPD activity. The number of points you earn varies depending on the type of activity and the training provider.
All HIA CPD activities clearly state the points value, so you know exactly what you earn before registering.
When you complete a HIA CPD activity, all the necessary information will be entered in your CPD tracker by our CPD team.
Login to the HIA website and select 'My dashboard' from the dropdown list. You can then select 'My CPD' from the menu.
On the 'My CPD' page, select the second tab 'HIA Activities' and click on 'Add CPD activity' button.
