Read this resource to find out what aspects of the NCC 2022 the NT Government plans to adopt and those elements it plans to omit.
The NT Government has indicated it plans to adopt the liveable housing provisions specified in the NCC 2022. However, it does not intend to adopt the energy efficiency stringency increases outlined in the NCC 2022 for residential buildings. Energy efficiency requirements for commercial buildings will be introduced in the Northern Territory for the first time, but with a delayed start.
The resource provides an extensive list of NT variations listed under NCC 2019 that will be removed for NCC 2022. These include variations to masonry veneer in construction, special use buildings, heated water services and sanitary drainage systems.
Also included is a link to an on-demand seminar that offers additional information on the NCC.
